What are the best eCommerce platforms?
Top eCommerce platforms 2022 are powerful, full-featured software tools for selling products online.
When choosing from the best options, there are many considerations to consider and each eCommerce website builder offers different features.
For example, if you sell 100 for three products, or if you want to do your own shipping and dropshipping instead of perfection, your needs will be different.
You should consider a B2B eCommerce platform if you sell to another business, or if you have a complex product catalog and order workflow.
Lastly, eCommerce software lets you quickly add your products, offer coupons and discounts, and automatically track inventory.
They should help manage shipping and perfection so you can focus on running your business.

The best eCommerce platform for big business is built to scale ($ 29.95 / mo).

BigCommerce is an enterprise-grade eCommerce platform where you can scale up to $ 100 million per year with top-notch SEO features, 40+ payment gateways, advanced product options, 24/7 support, and your eCommerce business.
Here is what usually happens.
A small business owner decides to go into eCommerce and chooses a platform like Shopify because of the recognition of their name.
After 6-12 months, they start to increase sales and pay extra for apps and add-ons to help their eCommerce business grow.
After some time, they hit a rising ceiling. These users may realize that they are paying hundreds of dollars per month for the app, that they lack search engine optimization, or that they are overstepping their platform.
Enter BigCommerce:

They are the most open SaaS eCommerce platform on the market – open API, zero transaction fees, and an open partner ecosystem.
BigCommerce has two product offers BigCommerce (their enterprise offer) and BigCommerce Essentials (built for small businesses). Both are made to scale with your development.
On the one hand, they are an accessible platform for small business owners due to their features and built-in functionality.
However, there are a few more learning curves than simple tools like Wix.
They are also suitable for enterprise brands that want to move away from expensive on-premise solutions like Magento to software services (SaaS).
Ford, Toyota, Skullcandy, and other Fortune 1000 brands use BigCommerce and can easily bring in over $ 100 million in annual sales without hesitation.
In December 2018, they established BigCommerce for WordPress, a “headless commerce” product that permits users to handle their front-end content in WordPress and their backend eCommerce with BigCommerce.
This use of the API allows for the speed of the WordPress site faster than other WordPress eCommerce options like WooCommerce, which installs multiple plugins to work and interrupts performance.
Key features:

- Expand your reach with a multi-storefront so you can sell your products across multiple platforms.
- Exceed the competition using the latest and most advanced technology.
- A flexible framework means you can integrate anything on your website.
- Borderless commerce means you can sell your product to anyone.
- Powerful analysis helps you track your sales and understand your customers.

- Powerful analysis helps you track your sales and understand your customers.
User experience:

The BigCommerce Dashboard guides you through the steps you need to take to set up your store, from adding products to creating shipping rules.
What I like is that there is also a step-by-step indicator for specific items such as accepting orders.
This makes the learning process much easier and allows even those who have no previous e-commerce experience to get started quickly.
Pricing:
Their plans start at $29.95 / month, and with it, you’ll get a branded online store and domain name with the ability to sell on social media like Amazon, eBay, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.
They have a common user interface for creating your online store, including your order, product, marketing, analytics, tax, and sections of your storefront:

With the newly launched BigCommerce shipping features, you get discounted carrier rates and the ability to print shipping labels and manage fullness on your dashboard.
Their themes are fully responsive and optimized keeping in mind the conversion rate
They also present complimentary SSL certificates, have a clear pricing structure, and again – zero transaction fees.
What I like/dislike about BigCommerce:
Like:
- Technical support is very knowledgeable about the product and can help you with any problem.
- Easy to use and intuitive interface.
Dislikes:
- It takes a little time and effort to set up a complete integration.
- For non-tech people, templates can be difficult to understand.
Product update:
- Openpay is a new payment gateway that allows customers to pay for their purchases over time.
- Multi-storefront is a new feature that lets you sell your products across multiple platforms.
- Apple Pay is now available on the checkout page, making it easy and fast for customers to pay for their purchases.
BigCommerce gets my highest recommendation for medium to large businesses and you can start with a 15-day free trial.

Shopify is an eCommerce powerhouse, hosting over 400,000 traders worldwide.
When you think of eCommerce, your mind may go to Shopify.
They are a Canadian company that was launched in 2004 and quickly became one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies in North America.
Dissatisfied with the existing mobile apps and eCommerce products on the market, Tobias Lütke, Daniel Weinand, and Scott Lake created their open-source web application with Ruby on Rails and launched it two months later.
That program became Shopify.
One reason Shopify has gained widespread brand awareness is its appeal to an audience of “dreamers” – new users who want to enrich it with eCommerce.
With their integration, even the most inexperienced users can set up a dropshipping store relatively easily.
I tested it.
After sorting my inventory, I merged a few dropshipping providers with Shopify and launched a store.

A beautiful-looking website was easy to design and add products to.
But just because you have an online store doesn’t mean it’s a successful one – you need to market your business.
Some of the disadvantages of Shopify are its SEO rules.
Your URL structure is locked in its format.
For example, instead of sectional pages located at campingsite.com/tents, Shopify forces you to use their campingsite.com/collections/tents format.
This structure is not ideal for search rankings, especially considering “category” is a high-level subfolder from the more important keyword “tent”.
Second, they have fewer product options than BigCommerce. If you sell T-shirts, for example, and have different colors, materials, and sizes, your SKU is quickly added.
Shopify is limited to 100 product variants – this is not enough if you have many different product combinations.
With the exception of Shopify, Shopify is a reliable eCommerce platform that works well for small businesses.
Key features:

- 70+ professional themes mean you can find the perfect look for your website.
- Editing HTML and CSS is the easiest way to customize your website the way you want it.
- Work with a professional to acquire the most out of your website.
- Your domain name gives you the ability to create a unique website for your business.
- A complete blogging platform means you can share your stories and connect with your customers.
- Automated tax means you don’t have to worry about calculating taxes for your products.
- Filling centers help you manage your inventory and fill orders quickly and easily.
User experience:

With an overview dashboard as you log in, Shopify lets you take a look at all the important information about your store.
This possesses your whole deals for the month, account visitors, reproduction customers, and more.
With a visual theme editor, you can easily customize the look and feel of your store without touching a single line of code.
Pricing:
Shopify has three plans from $29 to $299. In addition, its Enterprise Shopify Plus platform offers its own custom pricing.
All plans include unlimited products, free SSL, discount codes, inventory management, multilingual support, easy purchase buttons, abandoned cart recovery, marketing features, and 24/7 support.
To test for themselves, they offer a 14-day free trial.
What I like/dislike about Shopify:
Like:
- Google Merchant Center can easily integrate catalogs and allow customers to purchase products directly from your website
- E-commerce can customize web applications to match the look and feel of your brand.
Dislikes:
- App Marketplace is good but can be expensive if you want to use multiple apps.
- It can be time-consuming on multiple elements and it comes with a learning curve.
Product update:
- The new payment method for Shopify partners means you have more choices when it comes to paying for your work.
- Online Store 2.0 and ‘Dawn’ help you showcase your products in the best light possible.

6. Square online – One of the top eCommerce platforms 2022
Best for retailers and local businesses looking to get online (free – $72 / month)

Square, a popular POS system, has launched Square Online as an eCommerce offer to help retailers move their business online.

It’s a powerful standalone e-commerce platform but it also adds great options for local businesses, such as carbide pickup and local delivery.
Here’s how to get started with Square Online:
- Build your website using their pre-made templates,
- Add pages with page editors and add your store details.
- Add products to your store.
- Open your store for free (only 2.9% + 30 0.30 per transaction). Or you can go for a payment plan for more advanced features.
Key features:

- This makes it easy to create a beautiful and professional website for your business. You can choose from different templates and designs or create something unique starting from scratch.
- Reach more customers and drive traffic to your site through SEO tools, social media integration, and marketing campaigns.
- Create a professional website that looks great on all devices. You will have access to your custom fonts, colors, and layouts to make your site look exactly the way you want it to.
- Competitive pricing for website planning and transactions. There are no disguised fees or long-term contracts, so you can begin and stop your service.
- It is a very simple setup and a flexible option for small businesses that want to go online quickly and easily.
- You can trade straight from your Instagram feed and then expand to a full eCommerce website when you’re prepared.
- Another powerful feature is their secure online payment and ability to pay customers through Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Square Online also has a number of impressive features for miniature enterprise websites:
- Order food online for restaurant websites.
- Tools for online and personal retail.
- Online booking through Square Appointments.
- Ability to accept donations for non-profit websites.
User experience:

If you want to see what changes you’ve made to your website, Square Online Editor makes it easy.

Square online price

Square Online has a completely free plan, including unlimited products, in-house, and on-demand delivery, gift cards and coupons, SEO tools, an SSL certificate, integration with Instagram, inventory sync with Square POS, and more.
You pay only 2.9% + 30 0.30 transaction fee and $ 0.50 per delivery.
One flaw with this plan is that you can’t use your own domain name.
If you want to upgrade to one of their paid plans, you’ll get additional features:
Professional ($12 / month): Custom domain name (free for one year) and no square branding.Performance ($26 / month): Adds discarded cart emails, on-site customer reviews, and discounted shipping labels.
Premium ($72 / month): Low transaction fee, maximum shipping discount, and a real-time shipping rate calculator.
This is great because you can scale your plan as your online business grows.
For those new to selling online, I suggest you start their professional plan and then scale to higher-level plans as your order grows.
What I like/dislike about Square Online:
Like:
- Getting started is easy and having a website up and running fast.
- Square’s payment process is reliable and works every time.
- You can create a website and easily add eCommerce functionality.
Dislikes:
- Store designs are not as customizable as the other options on this list
- It is difficult to edit a template without some coding knowledge.
Product update:
- Square has introduced a new feature for mobile users that allows them to easily switch between different locations. It is ideal for multiple location businesses, which makes it easy to manage inventory and keep track of sales.
- You can now sell products by unit instead of weight and you can convert your inventory into different units of measurement. This will make it easier to manage your stock and always have the right product in stock.
- The Square Appointment Calendar has been improved, making it easier to view and schedule appointments. You can now see more information about each appointment, such as customer name and contact information.
Overall, Square Online is a great choice if you want to go online as a traditional retailer or local business.

Ecwid lets you create, manage and track all your ads right from the dashboard.
Perfect Facebook ads or Google ads are also easy.
The payment process is straightforward, with a built-in functionality with top POS systems, courtesy of Ecwid’s seamless integration with more than 50 payment gateways, such as First Data, PayPal, Square, Stripe, WePay, and more.
In addition, Ecwid is a ‘PCI DSS Verified Level 1 service provider,’ which helps it ensure end-to-end data encryption and secure customer and merchant payment details.
Some of Ecwid’s unique capabilities are:
- Inventory tracking
- Save favorite products
- A comprehensive customer address book
- Product option management
- Automatic updates

- A simple checkout process
All of these features (among others) help Ecwid stand out from its counterparts. That said, it also has its limitations. First, it does not provide services in languages other than English.
They do not provide any telephone assistance.
However, feature-rich and varied pricing plans meet the limitations.
The good news is that Ecwid comes with a free plan that provides all the necessary functions and lets you sell ten items a month.

9. WooCommerce – One of the top eCommerce platforms 2022
Ecommerce platform for WordPress (free + paid add-on).
With over 74 million downloads, WooCommerce puts power around
25% of online stores worldwide.
This simple open-source eCommerce plugin for WordPress was launched in 2011 and is currently one of the most popular eCommerce solutions on the market.

WooCommerce is a totally complimentary plugin that you can add to your WordPress site.
However, for more enhanced functionality that you will find with other eCommerce platforms in this list, you need to add a payment extension.
Another drawback is scalability.
I installed the plugin on my site and first noticed that it installed a total of four plugins to run and slowed down my site a bit.
Errors aside, there are several reasons why many people use WooCommerce. First, it is an admiringly customizable explanation.
There is a large community of WooCommerce developers who add new functionality due to the open-source nature of the plugin.
Second, WordPress is one of the most suitable outlets for SEO on the demand.
With endless SEO customization and the ability to have more control over your search results, WooCommerce is a natural extension of the WordPress platform.
However, this is not the only option, as I currently sell digital products on my WordPress site with the BigCommerce for WordPress plugin.
I found it much faster because it is a “headless commerce” solution that works through an API.
Overall, if you have a WordPress site and want to add free eCommerce functionality, try WooCommerce.

Best drag-and-drop eCommerce website builder ($23 / month).

Squarespace is a well-known website builder with basic eCommerce features in its third-highest price plan.
Before I moved my blog to WordPress, I started with Squarespace Personal Plan. Dragging content to my site and updating their pre-planned templates was effortless.
However, I quickly realized that Squarespace is not the best option for SEO, site speed, or customization.
Squarespace makes it easy for anyone without technical knowledge to create a website, but with ease of use whatever you gain, you will lose functionality and SEO benefits.
I remember while using them, I had a simple XML sitemap problem that was affecting my SEO and could not be resolved.
I had a trailing slash (/) in the URL on my Simap, it looks like content when others chase duplicate cats.
Long story short, it’s realizing my SK and I’m now open in WordPress.
As far as eCommerce is concerned, have you ever said, “I run my profitable online business in Squarespace.” Probably not.
Whatever the features, there are some benefits if you use this platform and want to add a simple eCommerce store.

Best for general small business (free – $26 / month).
Weebly is a website builder founded in 2006 that now has more than 500,000 domains and a 12% market share in the website builder space.
This platform works best for new small business websites that do not require an enhanced web presence.

A bonus is that Weebly has built-in marketing automation features.
If you want to buy another website builder and an email marketing service separately, you can pay an extra -20 10-20 per month.
Another pro is their product option.
You can manage hundreds of products, track inventory, automate stock items, and increase purchasing behavior by showing customers the remaining number of products (only 3 left!).

The pro about Yo! Kart is that it can create a multi-vendor marketplace for any business size (small, medium, and large enterprise).
Another advantage of using Yo! Kart is the ease of use of a product or inventory catalog management system.
Yo! Kart is considered the best solution when it comes to UX and design functionality.
It is a thoroughly customizable and scalable outlet with a lifetime license.
It also offers 12 months of free technical support, if no third-party customization is done on the website.
On the other hand, the main problem I have with Yo! Kart that it does not present complimentary themes as well as plugins.
Since this is a license-based solution you will need to purchase separate licenses for multiple domains.
Yo! Kart has 3 main pricing plans with flexible payment options:

- The GoQuick plan costs $999 and includes a wholly-owned license, zero payment processing charges, self-hosting, and a default design.
- The GoQuick Boost is the next plan, coming in at $2499.
The $74999 (GoCustom Lite) plan has additional features like a partial custom design.
GoCustom Prime is available on request.

For example, you can embed your products on any website or blog and easily sell them on Facebook, Instagram, and Google Shopping from one dashboard.

They offer a lot of great features out of the box, such as unlimited storage, bandwidth and subscribers, analytics, discount codes, and lots of third-party integration.
Their $26 / month basic plan gives users access to secure digital file delivery, global tax settings, and discarded cart recovery features.
What makes Sales really unique is that you can use their backend eCommerce hosting and sell products on any existing website.
For example, if you are already running a successful website, Sales allows you to add products to your site, buy buttons, and create various widgets.
You do not have to create new sites. You simply integrate sales with your existing site, add your product information, and start selling.
One drawback is that real-time shipping rates are only available on the $179 / month advanced plan, so things can get complicated if you sell products of different weights and sizes.
However, if you sell at a flat rate, this will not be a problem.
Finally, Sales provides support via email and chat, and in addition, each user gets their own account manager. This is unique and very helpful for new businesses looking for guidelines during setup.

What is an eCommerce platform?
The top eCommerce platforms 2022 are software tools that help people sell products and services online. Historically, businesses have had to purchase expensive, on-premises e-commerce software, including an IT setup and in-house hosting to manage their eCommerce. Now, with SaaS software technology, users can create an online storefront (front-end sales channels).
These eCommerce platforms handle everything from web design and product catalogs to shipping, tax, and marketing. With these web-based software tools, you can add your own products, manage inventory and orders, interact with customers, sync with other apps, and more.

What is the best eCommerce platform for SEO?
In the case of eCommerce SEO, there are many important ranking factors including site speed, URL structure, page title/content, and site-wide HTTPS.
1.Wix.
Most online store proprietors work with SEO and depend on paid Facebook and Google ads to develop an interest in their products. The top eCommerce platforms 2022 are software tools that help people sell products and services online.
Wix SEO has a free SEO tool called Wix SEO Wiz. Wiz analyzes your eCommerce site and provides a personalized SEO plan with a checklist to automatically improve your Google ranking.
These include optimizing your SEO headlines and meta descriptions, adding alt text, and indexing tools to quickly rank your pages. Wix and Google have collaborated on this feature and Wix users will be able to see their pages in search results as soon as they use this tool.
2. BigCommerce.
The top eCommerce platforms 2022 are software tools that help people sell products and services online. My second pick for Best SEO is BigCommerce. Here is the reason:
With Site Speed, you want to make sure that your eCommerce host loads your site content quickly on mobile and desktop. Even a 100-millisecond delay in load time can reduce your conversion rate by 7%.
Use tools like GTMetrix and Google PageSpeed Insights to regularly monitor the speed of your eCommerce site.
Second, image compression is another important factor in site speed. Images that take longer to load increase page load time, which affects user experience and SEO.
BigCommerce is the only eCommerce platform that offers Google AMP to merchants on both product and category pages, as well as automatic image compression with Akamai Image Manager.
Regarding URL structure, BigCommerce features the best default URL formatting.
For example, as highlighted earlier, www.rebelpeak.com/camping/blue-tent is the best format for following domains, categories, and product sequences. They allow you to do this, while other platforms like Shopify force you to keep their framework, including static “/ collection /,” / page /, “and” / product /. “
This URL structure is not ideal for SEO, so BigCommerce has won in this regard and it is a great pick.
What are the best free eCommerce platforms?
The top eCommerce platforms 2022 are software tools that help people sell products and services online. If you are looking for a free or open-source eCommerce platform, you can easily find many available. When researching the use of different eCommerce frameworks, it is important to ask yourself a few different questions:
- Are you interested in self-hosting?
- How much web development knowledge do you have?
- How much creative control do you want?
- Would you like to pay a small fee every month to pack everything in one package?
I would personally go with a payment option in an open-source system because small fees can save you a lot of time and development costs.
Open source platforms have some limitations. Whatever you gain in flexibility, you will lose in general hosting, maintenance and protection, and dedicated support.

What are the best eCommerce platforms for small businesses?
The top eCommerce platforms 2022 are software tools that help people sell products and services online. Small businesses running online require an uptime guarantee, security, PCI compliance, usability, and performance. If your business relies on eCommerce sales, your requirements will be stricter than one person selling online.
When it comes to B2B eCommerce platforms, there is a lot of reliance on your platform’s user access level, shipping methods, tax calculations, and invoicing software.
You need a solution that is easily managed by multiple users and reduces the time to complete orders
After all, the more time you save on compliance, shipping, and perfection, the more time your business needs to do online marketing.
Here are my highest picks for the best eCommerce outlets for miniature enterprises:
1. Wix.
The top eCommerce platforms 2022 are software tools that help people sell products and services online. Wix is best for businesses selling online because of their beautiful-looking templates and easy-to-use software.
You can manage everything from a simple dashboard so it’s best for non-tech savvy users.
2. 3dcart.
3dcart is easy to use for small businesses and is a great choice for SEO features. Local small businesses will benefit from their clear URL structure and easy access to online product sales. Also, they have a great support team available via chat, phone and email.
3. Shopify.
The top eCommerce platforms 2022 are software tools that help people sell products and services online. Shopify is another good eCommerce platform for small businesses for the same reason. These are extremely intuitive and easy to use – almost any small business owner should be able to create and manage a site in Shopify. With automated shipping and tax rates, they save business owners time.
In addition, if you want to learn how to use POS systems, Shopify is a great choice.
They are integrated with many top point-of-sale systems for universal retailers with both physical storefront and online stores.
What are the best eCommerce platforms for dropshipping?
The top eCommerce platforms 2022 are software tools that help people sell products and services online.Dropshipping software needs to be easily integrated with wholesalers, your inventory needs to be linked across platforms, and shipping needs to be done automatically.
When you associate your online store with a wholesale supplier, the first thing you need to check is that inventory levels are automatically synced across platforms. The last thing you want to happen is that someone orders a product on your site that your wholesaler does not have in stock.
Here are my choices for the best dropshipping platforms:
- Wicks
- Shopify
- BigCommerce

Tips and strategies for using eCommerce platforms.
With the myriad benefits that e-commerce offers compared to traditional retailers, this is a great way to maximize outreach not only for shoppers, but also for sellers at a minimal cost.
During online sales on Black Friday in 2017, U.S. shoppers alone spent $ 5 billion.

96% of all Americans have created an online buy at least once in their lives.
However, with more intense competition, standing in a crowded market is challenging.
Just using nice software is not enough. You have to have a proper full-funnel eCommerce marketing strategy from day one.
Here are some tips and tricks to assist your trade strategy this year.
1. Focus on mobile users.
We all know that mobile phones are now more popular than personal computers.
In fact, in July 2019, Google announced that the mobile-first index is a new ranking factor and will remain so.
This means that Google mainly looks at the mobile version of your site for ranking and indexing.
Statistics show that more than 63% of online users use mobile to browse online vs. desktop.

Naturally, focusing on your mobile site is now essential.
So, make sure you use your eCommerce platform to optimize your mobile website along with your desktop site.
Shopify is one of the industry leaders when it comes to mobile optimization and theme design.

Many other eCommerce platforms offer similar benefits that can help you provide your visitors with a better mobile browsing experience. First, make sure your software provides a mobile-friendly homepage, category page, and product pages.
Also, it’s best to optimize your mobile checkout experience and make sure your purchasing process is user-friendly.
2. Make your eCommerce website visually appealing.
Studies suggest that it takes 0.05 seconds for users to decide if they like your website If they don’t find it visually appealing or don’t understand what it is, they can quit right away. Therefore, you have a surprisingly short time frame to pique the audience’s interest.
You need to make sure that you choose a website theme that is not only relevant to your niche but also interesting to look at.
On top of that, it’s important to pick a logo and image to give your visitors an idea of your brand from the moment they enter your site.
The idea is to be as innovative as possible while giving your visitors a smooth browsing experience.
Visit this website:

This is a nice example of a visually interesting page that you might want to scroll down to It’s also easy to navigate and has a relevant call-to-action that is appropriately placed to grab the viewer’s attention.
3. Provide Ease of Navigation.
It is essential that your eCommerce site is well-organized and easy to navigate.
To make things easier for visitors to your website, you can add numerous plugins to the eCommerce platform you are using.
For example, WooCommerce allows you to automatically add a plugin that lets your users go back to the items they recently visited.

When you incorporate your website with these tools that create navigation more relaxed, you deliver a positive user knowledge and are more likely to develop deals.
Additionally, the convenience of product navigation with recently viewed and recommended products can increase eCommerce conversion rates.
4. Data and analysis.
That voice says, ‘Data is the new oil’ is now growing louder.
Currently, there are about 18 zettabytes of data in the world. There’s no reason you shouldn’t tap into this area.
Your strategy for improving your business using the eCommerce platform should include a plan of how to use the visitor information that your website creates every day.
Most eCommerce platforms come with a built-in analytics tool that can help you track your population.
Take Wix, for example:
